August 19, 2015, Shanghai, China: Atlas Copco’s first localized MD adsorption dryer rolls off the production line and has been sold to a famous multinational manufacturer in automotive industry, which marks a leap forward in Atlas Copco China’s capabilities in manufacturing air treatment products to better meet Chinese customers’ need for high-quality compressed air and high energy efficiency.

Before entering Chinese market, MD dryers have been widely recognized in the European countries for its performance and reliability. Using heat of compression to regenerate desiccant, no loss of compressed air thanks to its rotary drum design and half footprint of a twin tower dryer, all these have contributed to MD’s standing out in the Chinese adsorption dryer market that is dominated by twin tower ones. Atlas Copco decided to localize the production of MD series using the European standards in manufacturing and performance, and an optimized design that would better match the processes and applications of Chinese customers.

MD series is specially designed for use with Atlas Copco’s Z series oil-free and centrifugal compressors, and proven to be the perfect solution for a wide range of applications requiring pressure dew points as low as -25°C, such as food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, electronics, power generation and process air. In addition, for application’s pressure dew points down to -40°C, Atlas Copco also offers ND series.

MD dryer can also be built in Atlas Copco’s oil-free screw Full-Feature ranges for easy installation, intelligent control and efficient monitoring
